DESCRIPTIONThe Resha Khatmi, also known as, Marshmallow Root is a perennial plant native to Europe, Asia and North America. It grows to about 20 inches (50 cm) tall and has small white flowers followed by purple berries that are edible when ripe. The marshmallow root is also known as Althaea officinalis. The roots are harvested in the autumn and dried for use as medicine or food. Uses:The modern marshmallow candy is made from corn syrup, dextrose, gelatine, and egg albumen. A mixture of these ingredients is heated to around 240 °F (115 °C), whipped to twice or three times its original volume, and flavoured.
